Primary Focus
The primary focus of the Hawaii International Charter School is to ensure student achievement. In keeping with the vision of students as citizens who are ready to function and succeed in the world with deep understanding of Hawaii’s relationship to Asian countries, the school curriculum will ensure attainment of the Core Curriculum outcomes for English Language Arts and Mathematics as adopted by the State of Hawaii.  The curriculum will exceed the outcomes by using a second language to reinforce concepts of the core curriculum, as well as to provide contextualized learning specializing in the HCPS content areas of Social Studies, Health, the Arts and World Languages

The curriculum will:

1-Be consistent with the school’s mission and education program design

2-Present a clear and coherent framework for teaching and learning -- particularly in core academic areas – that incorporates or exceeds the education and content standards developed by the Department for the public school system

3-Present a coherent framework for professional development that is likely to support effective implementation of the curriculum.
